Hana Bank Enhances Financial Platform ‘Hana EZ’ to Improve Accessibility for Foreign Customers
Hana Bank, led by CEO Lee Ho-sung, announced that it has upgraded the financial functions of its foreigner-focused platform, Hana EZ, to enhance financial accessibility and everyday convenience for international customers in Korea.
As part of the latest upgrade, the bank introduced a new rewards service called MileEZ within the Hana EZ app, offering a wider range of services and benefits tailored to foreign users.
The upgrade also significantly expands non-face-to-face services, allowing customers to conveniently access both financial and daily-life services without visiting a branch. These services include customer identification registration, passport number changes, utility bill payments, and the issuance of various official certificates.
Through Hana EZ, users can now earn MileEZ rewards by using financial services such as exchange rate alerts, international remittances, and designation of foreign exchange transaction banks. In addition, users can accumulate rewards through non-financial activities including daily check-ins, roulette games, inviting friends, and searching for airline tickets. Customers who achieve monthly targets can also receive gift vouchers.
Tasks that previously required in-branch visits—such as customer identification registration and passport number changes—can now be completed easily through the app. Notably, Hana Bank has implemented a one-stop process that allows users to apply for an overseas remittance transaction bank immediately after updating their passport number, further improving convenience for foreign customers.
The app also strengthens lifestyle support features essential for daily life in Korea. Users can issue certificates such as transaction statements, balance certificates, certificates of alien registration, and national health insurance eligibility certificates, as well as pay public utility bills including electricity, water, sewage, and national health insurance premiums—all within a single app.
To celebrate the enhancement of Hana EZ, Hana Bank is launching a promotional event. Until March 31, foreign customers who use international remittance services through Hana EZ will be entered into a draw to win a one-don gold bar (one winner) or a 10,000 won convenience store mobile voucher (249 winners).
Further details about the event are available through the Hana EZ app or the Hana Bank Foreign Exchange Customer Service Center (1599-6111).
An official from Hana Bank’s Foreign Exchange Business Support Division said, “Through this enhancement of Hana EZ, we hope foreign customers can easily handle their financial tasks remotely and enjoy a wide range of financial benefits in their daily lives. We will continue to introduce differentiated financial and lifestyle services that foreign customers can conveniently use in their native languages.”
Meanwhile, Hana Bank continues to provide customized financial services for foreign customers, including 17 Sunday-operating branches nationwide, dedicated foreign customer counters at the Myeong-dong EZ-One Center, and foreign worker insurance services available through the Hana EZ app, which supports 16 languages.
